I like to work in a variety of styles and media. It is always a challenge for me to try something new. Maybe it is because I have an insatiable curiosity, or maybe I just get bored easily. Sometimes this acts to my disadvantage as to some I may appear to be a jack-of-all-trades rather than master of one. Famous artists, throughout history, have worked with creative media in many styles. For after all, variety is the spice of life.

Judith Fringuello

Fringuello is again experimenting with a new medium. She is now working in fabric collage. Using her original paintings as her source of inspiration, she cuts and fuses colorful material to a background fabric and then machine stitches the edges. Instead of backing it with batting like a quilt, she stretches the finished art as you would a painting on canvas. The finished art is quite striking. Many people think it is a painting. It measures 41" x 40" and is priced on request.

Creativity is a wonderful, special, almost holy act. It is the spark of genius. And yet, unless coupled with controlled discipline goes nowhere. Teachers in their enthusiasm to teach technique must be careful not to break this tenuous thread of originality. The artist, when faced with opposing forms of criticism must keep an open mind, select what (s)he feels is helpful and not get discouraged. The most important trait for any successful artist is tenacity.
