Judith
Fringuello was born in Moorestown, New Jersey. She studied at Pratt Art
Institute, Brooklyn and the Philadelphia School of Art. She received her
Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Masters of Arts degree in Studies
in the Visual Arts at New Jersey State College in Montclair.
As a professional illustrator, she rendered
full-color book covers, nature guides, children's books and numerous educational
filmstrips for Troll Associates, many of which were recommended by the
American Library Association. Four educational books for teenagers, published
by January Productions, were illustrated by her in simple line drawings.
Fringuello, now retired, taught for
fifteen years in the Bergen and Passaic vocational school systems of New
Jersey. She has taught commercial art courses at William Paterson State
College, Berkeley College, and Bergen Community College. She has served
as president of Salute to Women in the Arts and Pascack Art Association,
of which she is a charter member.
As well as writing, Fringuello
enjoys working in different art media such as acrylics, watercolor, screen
printing and decorative painting. She has shown her work in juried and
private shows throughout the metropolitan area and won many awards for
excellence.
